Adventures
We met through Patty (Agnes’ high school/college friend) and Sharukh (Dan’s volleyball buddy) on a hike. Agnes knew he was a catch because he brought grapes to share. Dan was so captivated by Agnes that despite a super swollen ankle from soccer, he came the next day to support her outreach event on anti-human trafficking. Agnes knew Dan was the one at their first date in Japantown. Dan knew for sure a few more hikes down the line during a hailstorm in Tahoe with Cleo & Bacon. Many adventures ensued - hiking, snow sports, traveling, eating delicious foods, and Dan taking many pictures of Agnes for her Instagram.
The engagement:
On the darkest day in the Bay Area, year 2020, the sky was an ominous orange; Dan wrote a haiku. Strategically placed on our weekly appreciation notes, Agnes read the first and only 2 lines written, felt confused, until Dan got on one knee and said the last 5 syllables: Will you marry me? Agnes said yes.
